I hope you all had a relaxing summer, and you are ready to start a great 2019-2020 school year. I have decided to try a new blog to showcase the great things going on in the technology lab. Here you will see images, videos and information on different topics of study in STEAM. Please check back!
All of the students at MTV participated in a growth mindset garden bulletin board. Flowers were carefully and creatively colored or folded to create a colorful garden with important messages on growth mindset.
Students have begun lesson in digital citizenship. We use Common Sense Media as a tool to drive instruction. Our first lesson was learning about Media Balance. Students viewed this video to begin a discussion about media balance. Check it out! Feel free to have your child watch at home!

Students in third, fourth and fifth grade have structured keyboarding lessons using Typing Club. They are encouraged to use proper posture and home row finger position. 
Students have the choice of using keyboard covers to help keep their eyes on the screen and not the keyboard. 
The kindergarten classes have begun computer instruction with learning mouse manipulation using ABCya.com. Students put stickers are the correct “clicker button” and practice clicking while reviewing their letters!
